Unified Membership

The South Dakota School Nurse Association (SDSNA) has agreed that members of the association must belong to both SDSNA and the National Association of School Nurses, Inc. (NASN).  

Membership dues are collected and managed at NASN's national headquarters.

All major credit cards are accepted. Use the online form to start a new membership or re-start a lapsed membership.

Join with a purchase order or check

Membership Classifications and Costs


All registered nurses who have as their primary assignment the administration, education or the provision of school health services shall be eligible for the active membership provided they are currently licensed to practice nursing in South Dakota. Active members are granted one vote on association business and may hold office.


Be enrolled in a professional nursing program to meet requirements to become a registered nurse. Submit proof of enrollment in a professional nursing program with the membership application. Be allowed a maximum of five years of student membership. Not be granted student membership if they have completed requirements to become a registered nurse and are pursuing further education.


Any school nurse, upon retirement, shall be eligible to become a retired member upon notification of SDSNA/NASN. Current state licensure is not required.
